What to Expect When You’re Inspected – Part one

Here’s the first in our 3-part series on
What to Expect When You’re Inspected

Pre-Layout:

What is your plan to build your project?

  1. How are you going to get water to flow out of and back to the pool safely & efficiently?
  2. Access: How are the pool users going to get into, enjoy, and get out of the pool safely?
  3. What challenges are preventing the hydraulics and access from being code-compliant?

What will you need to be prepared with (and have uploaded to the Inspected Portal)?

  1. A phone. This inspection is not done through the Inspected App, so at your scheduled time, just call your Inspected Inspector and they’ll take it from there.
  2. A filled-out APSP 7&15 form. We’ll help you on your first few, as the form isn’t completely intuitive.
  3. A Construction Plan showing pool depths, steps, equipment location, decking, water features, skimmer(s), and any non-typical aspects of the project. While a hydraulics plan and equipment brochures are helpful, they aren’t required.
  4. A pump curve for the filter pump you intend to use. These are available from the manufacturer.

Once you have passed this inspection, what’s next?

  1. Upload your APSP 7&15 form to the Austin AB+C Portal.
  2. Schedule your City of Austin Layout Inspection.
  3. Once the City Layout Inspection is complete, build your pool to plan, and schedule your Pre-Shell inspection with Inspected.

It’s that easy!
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out!

Next month’s “What to Expect When You’re Inspected” will go over the
Pre-Shell Inspection.

Be safe out there. We look forward to seeing you on your next inspection.
